Isabelle Philomena entered her 5th month of life yesterday.
She has fair skin, the barely beginnings of wispy blonde hair, and the bluest eyeballs. She's not just a gorgeous baby to look at, she's also a real delight to have around. Like most babies this age, she squeals and screeches with her sweet little voice, gnaws on her delicate toes, drools on anything she can get near her mouth, and is so curious about this world around her.
Her favorite spot to be is wrapped tightly to me (in fact, it's the one and only place she'll really nap.) She loves it when I set her in the middle of our queen-sized mattress -- that's when she really starts flailing those arms with excitement! She purposefully scooches herself up to the top of the bed, grabs a pillow, and pulls it down over her face. Then she laughs absurdly (we don't know why she loves to have blankets and pillows pulled over her face, but she does.) Her other favorite place to be is in any spot that allows her to clearly observe the busyness of her siblings. She constantly wants to know what they are doing.
She has always been, and still is, an infrequent and brief nurser. She's highly distracted when she does nurse. But she's growing steadily, so she must be efficient at getting what she needs quickly.
Yes, all the usual joys of having a bright-eyed baby are present in this household. I drink it up daily.
